2008 Annual Conference
Over 90 people attended the 2008 LVQ Annual Conference on Saturday, October 25. Dr. Ariel Fenster delighted participants with a lecture on the history and health benefits of chocolate. Martha Shufelt (Yamaska Literacy Council) was awarded the Freda Hudson Volunteer Recognition Award."It was fun and educational at the same time. 2006 Annual Conference
Dianne C. Smith, winner of the 2005 Council of the Federation Literacy Award from Prince Edward Island, was this year's keynote speaker. All in the room were moved to hear of Dianne's struggle to improve her education and graduate with her GED at the same time as her children.

2006 Student Conference
Literacy learners from all over the province attended the student conference held on Friday, November 3, 2006. The day's program included a morning workshop facilitated by Darlene Brown on Making your dreams a reality and a tour of The Gazette's printing press in the afternoon. After a delicious dinner served up at the Maritime Hotel, participants linedanced the night away.
