Many training and learning opportunities are now available on-line. If you are a learner or a volunteer tutor, click on any one of these sites to learn how to enroll in an on-line course, access on-line materials for lessons, or to learn more about how to be a better tutor.
  • AlphaRoute : Use and improve your language, math, computer, and Internet skills with AlphaRoute's quizzes, newspapers, learning activities, and games. Find out about the technology and math skills you need for work. Join AlphaRoute's community of learners – use email, chat online, try an online course.
  • Demonstrations Ontario : Learn how to design and use a demonstration to assess learner progress.
  • Essential Skills, HRSDC : Use this site to search approximately 250 profiles that describe how Essential Skills are used in the workplace. You can also access the Essential Skills Toolkit. This toolkit contains a series of tools and resources to help employers, practitioners and learners assess and/or improve Essential Skills.
  • The Learning Edge : The Learning Edge is an on-line student newspaper packed with interactive activities.
  • Literacy Basics : Literacy Basics is a free, self-directed online training website for literacy practitioners. This innovative training website was researched, written and designed by Community Literacy of Ontario.

  • QLWG Skills for Life Series : The QLWG Skills for Life Series is now on-line! These competency-based distance education materials, created specifically for an adult literacy clientele, will serve both in the classroom and at a distance. Click here to view the entire series.
  • Skillswise, BBC : Aims to help adults to improve reading, writing and number skills. Offers Level one literacy and numeracy resources: worksheets, quizzes, games and messageboard.
  • Training Post, Laubach Literacy Ontario : Packed with resources for literacy trainers and tutors. Contains complete modules and other resources to help you in your training and tutoring. New! LLO Compendium of websites!
